A previous incarnation of The Hall had a shit ton of crock pot stuff.

It's gone now, so I'm restarting. The HouseJew is out of town on a business trip, so I'm having to make my own food. I have a shit ton of stew and roast cuts in my freezer.

Tomorrow, I'm doing a Sirloin Tip Roast.

Going to cut up some Potato, Onion, and whatever other vegtables I have that are stew worthy, then cook for 8 hours. Spicing the meat tonight and letting it sit.

I've heard a bit of Vinegar on the top as it goes in helps tenderize, but not sure.

Don't need anything to tenderize, just season. Crock pot will make it fall apart already.

I sometimes put some apple cider vinegar in for taste but you definitely don't need it for tenderizing that's for sure

What do y'all spice the meat with pre-pot? I have never really done any preseasoning before. Just put a bunch of different spices out the garden in with it.

Put some garlic salt, pepper, sage, rosemary on the meat overnight.

This morning, cut up the following, and put roast on top.
    4 Russet Potatoes
    4 large carrots
    1/2 Turnip
    6 raddishes
    2 cups beef broth
    Meat on top.

Crock on at 9:30 AM, be ready at dinner.

Forgot I had no onion. Would have used some otherwise.

Turned out pretty good. I overcooked by about an hour, it's medium-well, but not dry.

Turnips were great. Spicy potato is what it's like cooked.

Raddishes have pretty much no flavor when cooked. Probably skip those next time.

I'd throw in more garlic and onions next time, just to kick it up a bit.

That works. Wife hates Old Bay so I almost never buy it. Lord knows I'm not about to cook

Beef, potatoes, dehydrated veggies, garlic, old bay, pepper, and some salt is my recipe. Thicken it with some Jiff biscuit mix and dehydrated potatoes and serve with cornbread.

Eat with whole milk or you're afraid of yourself

I used to like Old Bay, until I moved to Maryland where they put it on every damn thing.

Because I'm not working and am trying to eat cheaply and entertain myself using things I already have.

Like loading ammo out of components I have on the shelf, eating cow that I paid for six months ago and drinking beer that I made two months ago.
