Let's talk about physiognomistylistic predictors of warfighting abilities, contrast the man above to this:

It's not just eras, either, look at the Brits now:

It's said that the army with the fanciest uniforms always loses, if that's the case the US Army is well on its way to guaranteeing Russian supremacy, given the desire to give every soldier a loadbearing exoskeleton and augmented reality nightmare goggles.

The only suits I like are gaudy pimp suits like that.

So after trying a variety of dress shoes I can say with confidence that the only ones that look right and are also comfortable are Johnston & Murphy's "traveler's shoes." The only place I have ever seen them are at Joseph A. Bank, I do not think you can get them online. But they did feel awesome when they were new, it felt like I was walking on marshmallows. You must remember that you can't wear dress shoes on consecutive days, however - the insoles WILL wear out faster than they're supposed to if you do so. If you have a disposable $600 and have to wear dress shoes all the time, I would recommend visiting your nearst Joseph A. Bank and investing in 3 pairs of J & M traveler's shoes.

All other dress shoes require "breaking in" and will give you blisters if you don't do all the little tricks.

Dillard's usually has a good selection of J&Ms. The creme de la creme are still Allen Edmonds.

Allen Edmonds do look sexy but they will not be as comfortable as the J&M travelers.

I've found J&Ms are better for a wide foot. Allen Edmonds are like Chinese foot-binding.

Never ran into a problem with that because of my slender, aristocratic feet.
