If you have a curio & relic license, you can have antiques mailed to your house (HPF bought hundreds of revolvers a year this way).

Right, I think Ontos had a very cool short barreled shotgun with a foregrip.

It changed because Oswald ordered his guns through the mail, I think from the Western Arms Corporation

Canadians can also get new Norinco firearms besides shotguns, but that's 100% Norinco's fault for trying to sell to gangs

Keep an eye out, I've seen a few 100+ year old Winchester 30-30s for around 800 bucks.

I bought a new Henry 22 recently, it's bloody accurate and fit/finish is great. Hopefully their bigger ones are as good.

Ya could always get a Ruger Ranch in 7.62x39, they take Mini 30 mags.

Are Glocks all striker-fired? I thought that since my current pistol (M&P) is striker-fired, I might try mixing it up with a hammer-fired one next time.

Hammer fired is theoretically a better form of fire control than striker fired, in regards to pistols. When the gun fires and slide travels back, the energy to re-cock the hammer comes from the pistol's recoil. This can provide a mild braking effect and is an efficient use of energy. A striker fired gun cocks on closing, therefore is using energy from the recoil spring itself, which is inefficient - in the cocked state you have two springs fighting each other.

The only advantage to a striker fired system is that everything is contained internally - nothing from outside the gun can block the striker like could potentially happen to a hammer.

Personally I think a gun with a concealed hammer is the best solution. The PL-14 was designed this way. However they changed it to a striker fired system for the PL-15, and I am not sure why. The XM17 trial specified a striker fired pistol, with no justification given.

One advantage to striker fired guns is that typically you don't have to do anything (besides have a round chambered) to fire the gun, and nothing must be done to make it safe to go ahead and reholster. With a hammer fired gun you'll have to learn the ins and outs of how that particular gun's safety and such work (most double actions don't need to be safetied, but they do need to be decocked). It's no big deal, really, and some people just plain shoot better with hammer fired pistols, myself included. You really should go check out some SIGs and their clones (Norinco, AREX Rex Zero)

Good point, and that's why I'm a big fan of the H&K LEM trigger, much like SIG's DAK and the Daewoo DP51. Mainspring is cocked but hammer is down and safe, light trigger pull brings it back to engage with the spring. Also serves as a visual indicator to precisely where you are in your trigger pull.

Yeah it's why I intend on, when I get a P2000, getting one that's LEM. I have a lot of experience with the old S&W autos, though, the 3rd gen iterations having good enough triggers to stage them like one might do with a revolver. DOA with a WELL MADE gun isn't bad either, like a SIG or S&W, and are the ultimate retard proof option

Yeah the DAO trigger on the SP2022 is actually pretty good.

I was surprised at how close the 5946 was to a revolver, reminded me of a Ruger Speed Six without any stacking
