Poland went with their MSBS rifles, I may actually be jealous of another nation's guns for once!
I want to say to all the regular readers of the ATF forum that I understand I have a tendency to be passionately opinionated about gun related topics. I know this. Don't take anything I say as ridicule or personally. I personally believe that even a master of a subject is always a student of it and never stops learning. I am not claiming I am a master on things gun related. That being said I do have a good deal of experience education, insight, and training on many fields of small arms and the use of firearms for personal defense. I am experienced and informed regarding certain disciplines. I am making effort to extend a humble olive branch while having a sense of humility and humbleness with a side of reality. I love to discuss and challenge and even argue at times with you all about all things guns related because its something I am passionate about, and there is nothing wrong with that. However I understand I may come off as abrasive sometimes when I'm not trying to be adversarial. Yes we do argue about a multitude of subjects here on the hall in good spirits and that is solely my intent, I don't seek to offend, berate, discourage, or belittle. Its all in good spirits with a positive outlook.
I like guns and have loved them sense I was little and even marched into my first day of pre-school holding my mom's hand dressed as a cowboy, duel wielding my single action cap guns with my Bonanza cowboy hat worn proudly on my head. Ironically that was the same day I ran into my first faggot liberal anti gun opposition because I was told to leave my blue steel in leather holsters behind the teachers desk because guns were not allowed in school not even fake ones. I blame the Googles in Wichita Kansas that went to Irving Elementary School for such faggotry.
That being said I want to say I appreciate you all and your contributions here even though we come from different schools of thought and walks of life.
tl;dr u gay
We don't think you're being a douche, we just want you to understand that you can't come off so strong to normies. When someone outside of the hall, or even outside this particular branch therein, comes in for gun advice you can't talk to them with the full spectrum of gun autism. It's like when you're trying to date some random chick and you open with "I wan't to give you creampies and lots of white babies." Sure that will work for a couple chicks, but it's an extreme minority.
Everyone here will argue and shit talk eachother in good fun, bud.
Guys we should be talking about the Ruger American Ranch Rifle that is now offered in 7.62x39 and accepts the Mini-30's 20-30rd mags
I fucking hate you @Winbot . Now there is another gun I have to buy.
My SKS alleviates the desire otherwise I'd be all over it. Whenever I get the bolt action itch out comes the trusty Mosin! You don't see them much at the range these days anymore either, someone needs to carry the torch and be the asshole shooting the shoulder cannon.
I sometimes bring my FAL to the indoor range, and my M44, because everyone else can suck it. I'm not paying $500/year or driving 3:30 to shoot my rifles
Finally, a use for literally anything related to the Mini-30, god knows they don't work worth a damn themselves
I have wanted a bolt gun in 7.62x39. Figured it would be a good big boy rifle for deer, etc. when the boy gets a few more years on him and a few more BBs and 22lr down range.
I think I'm going to finally bite the bullet and buy some electronic ear pro. My last shooting trip outside without plugs left me partially deaf in my left ear for 3 days before it went back to normal, should I ever have to shoot in the house, I want a pair of those muffs that still let you hear normally(or better) then shut off for gunfire. Any recommendations? I don't want to spend a ton of money, but I'm fine inside of the 100 dollar range.
I have these. They are good shit.
Peltor Tactical 6S
Edit: broke the Amazon link because it keeps trying to auto-embed and fucking up.
Looks good, do they fit a hall cranium?
Ya, I got a big ass head and it's no problem. There's a few inches of play in either direction with the adjuster on the earpieces and the headband part is flexible too.
The only problem I've had with them is sometimes the power/volume knobs will get jostled and drain the battery while it's still in my bag.
Cool, I'll keep that one in mind, pretty decent price too.
I have these http://www.cabelas.com/product/WALKER-RAZOR-SLIM-ELEC-MUFF/2263950.uts
I use them for power tools, cutting the grass (on a mower in case you were wondering) and at the range. Good positive rolling on/off/volume switch. Has a jack for an MP3 player so I can have tunes while mowing. You can still hear things over the music.
I think I'm going to end to needing a higher NRR since most of my shooting happens indoors.
tfw no supersoldier ear implants
For demolitions ranges where they're going to be exposed to multiple explosions on the same day I know that combat engineers will double up and wear foam plugs under the electronic muffs. I can't imagine that indoor shooting would be worse than that.
I used electronic ears when I was an RSO, doubled up with plugs. Could still hear better than with standard muffs, and they didn't jam the arms of my glasses into my head
