Worrying about weight in the long term vs measurement and mirror is the difference between reaching visible abs and looking like a twink or reaching while having preserved your gains and looking like chiseled marble.

Losing weight is easy. You don't even need exercise. Losing weight while maintaining lean mass is hard, but the rewards are well worth it. Go on Piana keto. Eat carbs occasionally to replenish your strength. Nourish your body with quality food. Listen to what your body tells you and learn to distinguish between when it's telling you to eat because it needs something and when it's just a craving. Take BCAAs during your workout. Take creatine to help with your muscular endurance. Lift using a power bodybuilding method. Get a good mix of volume and intensity. Add cardio at a different time of day if you need it. Train well, eat well, rest well.

I've lost nearly 30lbs since I left big boi season behind. I will likely return to it once I've reached a point where anabolic potential is at it's peak. But what's more impressive to me is that I have lost zero muscle mass. I've dropped from about 36% bf to 31% and from a 48 inch navel measurement to a 43. All in one month, with no downside except for a dip in strength and endurance while I continue to adapt.

Get lean was going great until this weekend. Women ruin everything. Nothing is going to stop me today, I rule.

There is no need for that kind of mentality. It serves no purpose in the greater plan. We all make sacrifices to reach our goals: I sacrificed aesthetics to leave manlet strength limitations behind as at one time, I made a similar statement of having a below 315 bench/400lb squat/450lb deadlift being worth of falling on your own sword, which I still believe to some degree. It is still the better of two evils to be fat and strong vs lean and weak, though there is no reason you can't be both aesthetic AND strong which is obviously the best choice for the enlightened new übermensch. It's like O'Hearn says, "nice body, but WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH IT?"

Seems that the weight loss has already been paying off dividends. I forgot to take my BP meds yesterday and despite that I clocked a 124/78 today.

Next race should be to 32 inch waist. I think that's accessible for everyone, right? Mike O'Hearn claims 29.5 inches in photoshoot condition, at 6'3" with a very big frame. Naturally pear shaped guys with big hips could be at a disadvantage but what else is new.

Unlikely I'll ever be that low. Bone structure is very square framed. My hip bones alone are almost 38"

Not pear shaped btw. I have wide shoulders and wide hips. I'm naturally built for manual labor.

Hmm, first person to lose 6 inches from the waist then? A waistline competition is better than a scale competition I think.

Yes, most definitely. Realistically, based on history, I think the lowest I will get is 36" or 37" which puts me at 6 or 7" to go.

What is it though? You have little shit throwing you off fairly frequently which adds up. I'm sure everyone else does too, they just pretend they've been perfect all week!

List it all out for yourself. Feel free to post the list here for tips (abuse). Then figure out how to make resisting each common temptation easier! Ideally eliminate the option to succumb, make it so you don't have to use any willpower.

And just the act of writing it out, externalizing it, can make resisting a temptation easier. I don't know why.

I'd say the same thing to nofappers who sit alone in their room with a laptop and wonder why they caved in again. "Flee temptation!"

Endure temptation, embrace it. Do not flee or avoid it. Recognize that you alone make the decision. Understand that, internalize it, then you can recognize when it is acceptable to give in a little. You don't have to be spartan 100% of the time. In fact it is impeding your progress! Be strict 90% of the time instead. The occasional binge, cheat, pig out, re-feed, or whatever you want to call it will shock your metabolism back to life, re-energize your muscles, and refresh your mind and spirit. A higher state of mind isn't just about exercising complete and constant autistic willpower, it's about enjoying your short life on this earth! It's all part of reaping the rewards of your hard work. Just like being able to experience better relationships, better health, etc, you can also experience an occasional divergence and your superior physical form will absorb it.

Massive sugar cravings and feelings of exhaustion this afternoon. Mind is wandering to thoughts of pancakes and donuts and milk. Objectively listening to them but consciously realizing that it's just part of the conditioning being broken.
